WATERING AFTER SODDING
GENERAL GUIDE
Watering is the most important step after installation of your sod lawn. Water carefully.
Soak new lawn thoroughly to encourage, deep root growth. Water
until the sod gets spongy wet (The first day lawn is in).
Water deeply, twice a day (morning and afternoon) if necessary, for the first 7 to 10 days.
By second week after installation water lawn every other day in the morning for 20 minutes.
By third week depending on Weather, Season and Soil Absorption, you should be watering once every 3 to 5 days in the morning.
Gently lift a corner of the sod to be sure water is penetrating deeply.
Areas near sidewalks and driveways will dry out the fastest and be the slowest to establish. Water these edges more frequently, if possible.
Pay careful attention that water is penetrating deeply and not running off sections on slopes and run -off areas.
